We have an idea!

The most dangerous phrase that Ally ever says is, Daddy, I have an idea!” I brace myself for shock as await the creative and unformed plan that has somehow become the latest focal point of  her attention. That being said, we, Loconani, have an idea. Inspired by a book that one of our friends sent us about the journey that takes a family of five around the globe, we have decided to keep our adventure moving forward. At the lowest point of our current RV trip I would have never imagined saying this, but after Nikki and I have spent weeks deliberating this we have concluded that this is absolutely the right move for our family.

Whats the plan? Well, that’s the tricky part. We haven’t completely though thru every detail, and to accomplish this during a pandemic is probably a crazy idea, but that seems to be our mantra lately. We will spend the summer in San Diego, settling a bit and getting ourselves ready for this insane adventure. We will depart sometime around September, hitting Asia first. Ally says her favorite thing about that is the possibility of having Dim Sum everyday, go figure. I will do remote work, possibly just blogging and consulting. Nikki will continue to home school and possibly get some remote work as well. Thats about it, for now. We still have just over two months left of this trip and want to remain present with that, so we’re trying not to get too carried away. 

This is insane, we know. This is unexpected, we know. The is irresponsible, impractical, ludicrous, possibly. But the feeling of being stationary doesn’t seem like it is in the cards for us, at least for now. I guess our theme for this trip truly is validated- sometimes life’s journey takes you were you never expected.
